Could you be the first Responsible Travel Ambassador?

A nation-wide quest is currently underway for a Responsible Travel Ambassador, and G Adventures and KarryOn are coordinating their search efforts as we speak.

A nation-wide quest is currently underway for a Responsible Travel Ambassador, and G Adventures and KarryOn are coordinating their search efforts as we speak.

But the question is: where will we find him or her?!

Will it be a retail travel agent down in Melbourne? A corporate consultant up in Sydney? Or could it even be one of the hundreds of Mobile Travel Agents scattered across this wide and vast land?

Hmm, we certainly don’t know right now, but we do know that come the 13th of September three sustainable travel-minded Travel Agents will be flown to G Adventure’s head office in Melbourne – aka “The Outpost” – to present to the team at G Adventures and KarryOn on why they should be crowned “Responsible Travel Ambassador for G Adventures.”

And get this: not only will the winner receive full bragging rights at the appointment of such a title, but they’ll also score an epic G Adventure 10 day Nepal Adventures Tour – plus flights – where they’ll experience the colourful chaos of Kathmandu, the serenity of the Himalayan walking trails, and a 4×4 expedition in search of tigers.

Enter the competition below…

But most importantly, the 10 day Nepal Adventures Tour includes a visit to the Sisterhood of Survivors Planeterra project in Nepal, a project dedicated to stopping human-trafficking in Nepal and a recipient of a UN Tourism award.

Of course, in order to be even considered for this competition, you’ll need to be the kind of Travel Agent that’s totally committed to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism in your job.

You’ll take pride in selling products to your clients that help communities around the world work towards having a better quality of life, and you’ll also be committed to limiting the effects of mass tourism on the environment.

Basically, you’ll be an eco warrior who lives and breathes sustainable and responsible travel, someone who can talk for hours on end on why Travel Agents have a crucial role in preserving the wonder of travel and the environment for future generations.

Does this sound like you?!

If so, G Adventures certainly want to hear from you. Since launching their own non-profit Planeterra Foundation in 2003, G Adventures, under the guidance of founder Bruce Poon Tip, has racked up the awards, forging a reputation in the crowded travel landscape as a company that does the right thing by all and separating themselves from the pack with their commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism.

It’s a commitment that continues to this very day, with G Adventures working hard over the next five years to raise $5 million to establish 50 new community development projects through the its “50 in 5 campaign”, allowing them to positively impact even more lives around the world.

But back to the competition. If you’d like to be appointed the “Responsible Travel Ambassador for G Adventures” and travel to Nepal to see first hand the positive influence travel can have on disadvantaged communities around the world, all you need to do is submit three reasons why you deserve to be G Adventures’ Responsible Travel Ambassador. The deadline for the comp ends on 31 August – so what are you waiting for?!
