You Travel Agents go on so many famils and attend so many events that we’ve had to create a whole new section dedicated to your awesome adventures.

Check out what consultants got up to over the last seven days below, including a cruise around Australia or click here to check out last week’s pics and snaps.

1. SPOTTED… embracing a Golden opportunity to cruise

Travellers Choice members on a cruise

Princess Cruises recently invited a selection of Travellers Choice’s rising ‘cruise stars’ to enjoy a voyage along the Australian coast on board Golden Princess.

Before boarding the ship for a cruise between Sydney and Melbourne, the group of 20 Agents received a guided tour of Carnival Australia’s new headquarters in Sydney.

Travellers Choice General Manager Marketing Robyn Mitchell says the agents – who travelled to Sydney from across the group’s national network – are all dedicated to growing their cruise sales over the next 12 months.

“Princess Cruises provided a wonderful opportunity for some of our most ambitious members to expand their cruise knowledge and further enhance their first-hand experience of ocean cruising,” says Mitchell.

“During the visit to the new Chatswood office our members had the opportunity to meet many of the people they talk to each week as well as see how all of Carnival’s world-leading cruise line brands work together.

“Not surprisingly the results are already flowing through as members pass on their passion and enthusiasm for cruising to their customers.”

2. SPOTTED… helping mum’s in need

Travellers Counsellors

Christmas is a time for giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, but come January, that charitable spirit can sometimes be forgotten. Staff at the Australia office for Travel Counsellors decided to abandon the traditional December Kris Kringle and gathered all their lotto winnings and coffee money to fill a van with nappies for delivery to local charity, St Kilda mums.

Donating to a charity like St Kilda Mums is a direct and practical way to help families experiencing hardship or violence. The charity relies on donations from the community and distributed over $5 million of material aid last year.

Travel Counsellors General Manager Australia, Tracy Parkinson said: “We are very proud to support this local charity. As a mum, it can be a daunting experience having a baby particularly if you don’t have a support structure behind you, so we are comforted that we can bring some peace of mind to these families.”

3. SPOTTED… meeting the happiest man in Paris

MTA Mobile Travel Agents

Mobile Travel Agents’ Kyara Newport with Hotel De Crillon – a Rosewood Hotel Senior Sales Manager, Naoya Sato known affectionately in French travel industry circles as the ‘happiest man in Paris’.

In Paris as part of a French study tour program, Kyara was fortunate to enjoy a stay at the hotel which, located in French capital’s famous Place de la Concorde, was only reopened late last year.

A highlight of Kyara’s stay,  aside from an apartment-sized room, fresh flowers delivered daily and a personal butler, a soufflé cooked table-side in the hotels award-winning L’Ecrin Restaurant.

4. SPOTTED… warming up with tennis pros

Mark Philippoussis and Goran Ivanišević warm up for this weekend’s Australian Open Tennis Legends Tournament on P&O Cruises’ Pacific Eden which is carrying over 1200 guests who sailed from Sydney to Melbourne for the first Grand Slam of the year.

It is nearly 20 years to the day since the duo last played each other at the Wimbledon Quarter Finals in 1998 and 15 years since Philippoussis lost the US Open Final to five-time Australian Open Champion, current title holder and this year’s tournament favourite, Roger Federer.

Philippoussis and Ivanišević are part of a legendary line-up of tennis greats starring on P&O’s Australian Open Cruises which will bring more than 3500 guests from Sydney to Melbourne for the sporting event of the summer.

The five-night cruises offer a packed onboard program that provides tennis fans with access to some of the world’s best players and tickets to all the action of the first Grand Slam of the year.
