The Travel Industry Mentor Experience (TIME) ventured to Brisbane recently for just its second networking event in the Queensland capital, the final TIME event for the year.

“Like our inaugural Brisbane function in August this year, our second networking event was a roaring success,” says TIME program graduate and networking event organiser, Emily Warbrick – Snowscene General Manager.

“Networking is such an important part of developing your career, and no-one networks quite like TIME. Our events provide the perfect forum to connect, re-connect and absorb experience from some of the brightest and best in the industry,” continued Emily.

The Brisbane event was hosted at the Brisbane headquarters of Globenet Travel, and featured a keynote address by Kim Tomlinson from Travellers Choice. Kim inspired the room describing his official and unofficial mentoring experiences over the years, and a brief recount of his career to date.

Things then took an interactive turn when everyone was asked to write down one thing a mentor had taught them. These anecdotes were then collected and shared with the room.

“The whole process was very much a warm and informal fireside chat, and a fabulous way to share knowledge and experience which is at the core of what mentoring is about”, says Emily Warbrick.
