Now, to further help you choose a carrier, it’s time to examine the airlines that will get you to your destination on time.

Aviation experts over at OAG.com recently put on their lab coats and safety glasses to examine airline punctuality around the world and found the least tardiest mainline carrier to be… a low-cost carrier!

What?!

That’s right, Latvia’s budget airline, airBaltic, topped all other mainline carriers around the world for having the most flights arrive and/or depart under 15 minutes of their scheduled times.

Makes you re-think the quality of a low-cost carrier, right?

Following airBaltic was Hong Kong Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines along with Copa Airlines and Australia’s very own, Qantas.

One of our own is mighty reliable!

More than one actually, Virgin Australia was named 18th most punctual carrier, just behind Air New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Qantas’ subsidiary, Jetstar, was found to be the 16th most on-time low-cost carrier in the world, behind Jetstar Asia, which came second.
