In South America’s case they actually are free thanks to Adventure World.

The tour operator is running a free international air offer to celebrate Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic’s 50th anniversary in the Galapagos.

Holidaymakers just need to book a select 2017 departure with Lindblad Expeditions through Adventure World before 30 June and they’ll receive free flights to the Galapagos Islands from either Sydney or Melbourne.

Then once they reach the Galapagos, they can spend time with adorable little penguins, watch gorgeous seals as they go about their daily lives or hike to the top of Bartolomé’s volcanic cone.

For more of a futuristic escape to a country unlike any other, Japan Airlines is celebrating its new Melbourne-Narita services by rolling out introductory fares to Japan from just $699 return.

The discounted price is available until 31 July 2017 for flights between 2 September and 31 March 2018.
