Is G Adventures really the best place to work in Australia?

A 'ball pit' in the office, inspiring company ethics and an all-round fun attitude has landed G Adventures in the list of 'Best Places to Work' in Australia.

A ‘ball pit‘ in the office, inspiring company ethics and an all-round fun attitude has landed G Adventures in the list of ‘Best Places to Work’ in Australia.

We’re not kidding they have an actual ‘ball pit’ in the office, which can be used for ball throwing or even meetings.

And with a fun attitude like that, it’s no wonder the tour operator has found itself sitting at number 24 in Business Review Weekly’s top 25 ‘Best Places to Work’ list for 2015.

The list, which ranks companies with the most notable workplace cultures, saw G Adventures beat IT service provider, Kiandra IT, for the spot in the under 100 employees category.

There are a number reasons the tour operator would have found itself on the list (*cough* generous travel perks), but G Adventures says it’s a combination of the fun stuff as well as the extensive training, leadership programs and development days.

Heading up the team in Australia, Belinda Ward said she was proud to be in a leading a team of inspired and enthusiastic employees.

“It is a real honour to be acknowledged as the best travel company to work for in Australia.”

“G Adventures truly is an amazing place to work and I am proud to be part of the close-knit G family.”

In addition to the ball pit, the office has themed meeting rooms such as the Dr Seuss-themed meeting room. There’s even a purple ping pong table in the centre of the office.

G Adventures prides itself on keeping the day to day working life of its staff in Australia fun and inspiring. This is also reflected in its Net Promoter Score (NPS), which is based on survey responses from consumers across Australia, who rate their experience with G Adventures on aspects of customer service and sales support. With happy staff, the company is achieving an NPS of 85 for its sales department in Australia, which is well above industry averages and global benchmarks.
