Photo sharing on social media sites like Instagram has the power to inspire travel, this was no more evident than last weekend during the #helloworldRELAY.
Helloworld along with dozens of tourist bureaus, agents, bloggers and agents utilised that power through the hashtag to capture a new audience and promote tourism.
Among those participating in last weekend’s relay was Tourism Ireland, which teamed up with influential Irish Instagrammer Gavin McKay (@ga11mck) to showcase ‘Ireland’s Ancient East’ – Ireland’s newest trail that takes trekkers through 5,000 years of Ireland’s history.
Using his camera and Instagram login, Gavin shared incredible shots of Ireland’s most historic sites, including Newgrange, Glendalough and Slane Castle, as well as the stunning landscape these sites are surrounded by.
