It’ll be the happiest place in the galaxy for Star Wars fans once Disney completes the construction of two Star Wars-themed lands in Anaheim and Orlando.
The parks will each cover 14 acres and be built to replicate various experiences from the hit sci-fi franchise.
Visitors will be able to walk through fully realised Star Wars worlds and interact with characters. They’ll also be able to fly the Millennium Falcon and have a drink at the cantina while experiencing a major battle.
Speaking at the D23 Expo over the weekend, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the new lands will transport guests to a ‘whole new Star Wars planet’ while putting them in the middle of ‘a climactic battle between the First Order and Resistance’.
“We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever.”

The boss didn’t reveal when the theme parks will be complete, however, he did say separate Star Wars attractions will start rolling out in existing parks later this year to compliment the release of the new movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“We’re currently casting for roles,” Iger said.
“The attractions, the entertainment, everything we create will be part of our storytelling. Nothing will be out of character or stray from the mythology.”
The news of the new Star Wars theme parks come as Disney expands on its relationship with Lucasfilms.
The entertainment giants will help bring the new movie to the big screen while also promoting the flick by introducing Star Wars characters on board its Disney cruise ships.
