The happiest place on Earth also happens to be the most convenient place on Earth, especially for families looking for accommodation, family-fun activities and shopping all in one location.
But sometimes the well known theme park can feel like a world away for us Aussies, with the closest located 9.5 hours away in Tokyo.
Thankfully, Disneyland is not alone in its multi-entertainment/hospitality offerings with other theme parks offering similar multi-entertainment/hospitality set ups and there’s even one around eight hours away in Kuala Lumpur.
Have you heard of Berjaya Times Square?
Although it may not be as extravagant, well-themed and iconic as Walt’s parks, Berjaya Times Square does have all the makings of a decent Disneyland substitute with lodging, shopping and playing all under one roof – literally, it’s indoors.
Much like Disneyland, the Square has a large theme park, which happens to be the largest in Malaysia.
The park can be found directly under Berjaya Times Square Hotel and is split into two zones: the family friendly Fantasy Garden with rides for the younger children such as the Buddy Go-Round merry go round and the Galaxy Station for the older kids featuring the apparently hair-raising Supersonic Odyssey rollercoaster.
After a day of screaming, eating and laughing at the theme park, guests can head up to the 655 hotel made up of one and two bedroom suites, each offering views of the city through floor-to-ceiling windows.
The property has one of the largest roof top pools in Kuala Lumpur and connects to a shopping mall with some 900 retail outlets selling clothes, handbags, electronics, shoes and quirky toys.

Oh yeah, Berjaya Times Square Hotel also has a nine-screen cinema complex playing the latest movies.
