Cruising along the Yangtze gets a new Sanctuary feel

The boutique vessel recently underwent a comprehensive refurbishment to exemplify a complete ‘sanctuary’ experience on the Yangtze river from spacious rooms to unique onboard experiences.

Changes were made to the 38 deluxe cabins, which are now the largest entry-level cabins on the river, while each of the 20 suites and four specialty suites have been fitted with private balconies.

Cruisers will never struggle to have their requirements met thanks to a 1:1 crew to passenger ratio and they’ll always have a sense of local culture through the Chinese influences in the contemporary interior design and decorative items sourced from Chinese markets.

To enhance this experience still further, Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer now has a wide range of on-board cultural offerings, including talks about Chinese history and traditions, Tai Chi and Chinese massage as well as the opportunity to learn the art of calligraphy, dumpling making and to take part in the all-important tea ceremony.

Sanctuary Yangzi Explorer offers three-night cruises from Chongqing to Yichang and four-night cruises from Yichang to Chongqing bringing guests as close as possible to central China’s most captivating landscapes. Itineraries provide a fascinating insight into history-steeped cities and rural stories to be found along Asia’s longest river.

This northern hemisphere summer there is a program of special sailings including a 4-night Shennongjia itinerary on selected dates in July and August, as well and family ‘summer camp’ sailings also running in July and August with a variety of special child-friendly activities onboard.
