The best travel employer in Asia Pacific is... Marriott

Employees feel motivated, there's room for career growth, leaders have a clear vision of the future and more importantly people LOVE going to work everyday.

Employees feel motivated, there’s room for career growth, leaders have a clear vision of the future and more importantly people LOVE going to work everyday.

If your current workplace ticks off all of the above or you’d be willing to gift your boss with the mug below, then you work for an incredible employer (as you’d already know).

But only 15 companies across APAC have officially received the title ‘Best Employee in Asia Pacific’, including one travel company… Marriott International.

The hospitality group was named top employer alongside companies such as SEEK, Blackmores and Cisco System during this year’s Aon Best Employers awards, making it the third consecutive year the company has achieved such high recognition.

According to the hospitality group, the title was awarded after an assessment of employees, leaders and culture that found employees not only speak positively about their employers but they intend to stay and are motivated to do their best every day. Leaders have a clear vision of the future and take the time to recognise employees while leading them to success.

Marriott International’s President and Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Craig S. Smith, said the award has particular significance because it comes directly from staff opinions.

“Since our founding in 1927, Marriott has built its business on taking care of its people, who in turn would take care of the guests.”

“As our company expands and a new wave of colleagues are now under the Marriott umbrella, we will continue to place our associates at the very heart of our business.”

Smith said he believes Marriott’s TakeCare program contributes to keeping employees happy and engaged at work because of its focus on helping them live their best life with a focus on body, mind and spirit.

“We are committed to programmes like this because as well as being the right thing to do, they also make good business sense,” Marriott’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Regan Taikitsadaporn said.

The Aon Hewitt award ceremonies in Asia Pacific will officially take place in summer 2017.
