Emirates is a real daredevil in this viral video

Emirates is flying high today with record breaking profits and a new viral video showcasing the carrier's imagination, flight precision and unguarded ambition.

Emirates is flying high today with record breaking profits and a new viral video showcasing the carrier’s imagination, flight precision and unguarded ambition.

Let’s start with the newsy stuff first – the airline’s biggest half-year on history.

During the first six months of the 2015/16 financial year, the Emirates Group made a net profit of US$1 billion, up an incredible 65 percent over last year’s result.

Despite the drastic rise in revenue, ongoing investment in new aircraft, infrastructure, additional employees and business acquisitions had the Group’s cash position down from US$5.5 billion on 31 March 2015 to US$4 billion by 30 September.

Emirates Airline’s Chief Executive, His Highness (HH) Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, said the decrease in cash position also came from the carrier’s decision pass savings from lower fuel prices on to customers by cancelling passenger fuel surcharges and lowering fares across the network.

“That the Group is reporting one of its most profitable first half-year performances ever, speaks to the strength of our underlying business.”

Two guys in jetpacks were filmed chasing an Emirates A380 as it flew over Dubai.

It’s an incredible and somewhat nail biting video which successfully showcases Dubai’s adventurous experiences, its stunning skyline and Emirates’ exceptional skills.

In less than a couple of days the video has gone viral, with over one million views and thousands of comments.

Filmed by Jetman Dubai, the stunt was carefully choreographed to ensure pilots Yves Rossy and Vince Reffet safely flew alongside the aircraft over the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai skyline.
