This week the entire industry went into a state of shock when Creative Holidays revealed it would close its doors from 31 December 2015.
Dubbed the end of an era, the closure comes after over 30 years of business.
According to The Travel Corporation Australia’s (TTC) Chief Executive, John Veitch, the tough decision was made after a review of the brand found it was competing in a ‘fiercely competitive’ environment.
Agents with existing bookings will be contacted by a member of the Creative Holidays team in order to discuss options. A Creative Holidays transition team will remain in place to look after existing bookings.
In aviation, Japan Airlines may be on the verge of announcing new direct services between Tokyo and Perth, according to the carrier’s chairman.

The standard base will rise from three percent to five percent in the coming year.
