Qantas just gave its Frequent Flyer members a good reason to stay loyal – by lowering the number of points they need to earn free flights.

Regular flyers need to rack up 120,000 points in order to travel from Sydney to London for free.

That’s an 8,000 drop from the previous 128,000 points required last year.

But that’s not all.

The airline has also decided to reduce charges from $848 to $708.

The change is part of the carrier’s new reward scheme, which will also include a 10 percent drop in the number of points needed to earn free flights to destinations in Asia, America, Europe and Africa.

Here are a couple extra example of Qantas’ new ‘reward-ing’ scheme:

Members will only need 90,000 to book a free economy ticket from Melbourne to Los Angeles and pay $419.32 in charges – a drop from $609.32, according to News.com.au.

There’s also only a $180 charge for frequent flyers with 5,000 points to book a free Perth to Singapore flight.

So far, the change only applies to international flights.

The new Qantas reward scheme comes less than a month after the carrier resumed its agreement with grocery giant, Woolworths. Click here for more information.
