Brisbane’s accommodation sector is set to grow with the first-ever brand new ibis Styles hotel in Australia scheduled to open in the city by the end of March this year.
The ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street officially completed the building phase this week and is on track for its Q1 opening.
Located at 40 Elizabeth Street, the hotel will be the largest ibis hotel in Australasia with 368 rooms. It’s also one of the most centrally positioned properties in the city, sitting close to Brisbane Casino and adjoined to the Myer Center and Queen Street Mall.
Mat Finch, who has worked with AccorHotels for 15 years, has been appointed as General Manager for the new property.
Inside, ibis Brisbane Elizabeth Street will feature individual designs, setting it apart from any other ibis hotel, and will be designed with vibrant and playful colours.
It will have a continental breakfast and Wi-Fi access.
According to AccorHotels’ Pacific Chief Operating Officer, Simon McGrath it is a key development for Brisbane and the hotel group.
“The first Ibis Styles Brisbane Elizabeth Street is set to be a flagship ibis Styles hotel for the region and we look forward to welcoming guests to the property by the end of Q1 2016.”
Simon McGrath, AccorHotels Pacific Chief Operating Officer
“The ibis Styles brand has kept up with the changing expectations of consumers through design-led affordable quality hotels in the economy space and AccorHotels will continue to expand the ibis Styles portfolio.”
ibis Styles Brisbane is Action Hotels’ tenth hotel and its opening will increase the total number of operating rooms across the portfolio to 1,929, a 23.5 percent growth. AccorHotels and Action Hotels currently partner on eight ibis hotels and the partnership will see a further three hotels join the portfolio by the end of 2016.
