There’s no rest for the wicked – just ask the team at Scenic, who made three HUGE announcements over the weekend.
First, the company is building its first expedition yacht, which is costing around $230 million to build and will feature ultimate luxury, two helicopters AND a submarine.
Top agents were awarded on Saturday night for their ongoing efforts in selling the company’s many products.
AND now, the company’s value river cruise line, Evergreen, is adding two new ships to its fleet.
Emerald Liberté and Emerald Radiance were unveiled by Scenic’s Founder, Glenn Moroney, at the annual ‘Night of Stars’ event on Saturday.
He said the ships will join the fleet in 2017, giving Evergreen seven vessels to fill and around 250 beds to sell.
“Our brand has proved to be really popular, we went from zero to five ships in two years.”
Glenn Moroney, Scenic Founder
“The product on board is value orientated but we get exceptional ratings – people really enjoy the theatre and the pool and it’s a really nice product for its positioning.”
Emerald Liberté will carry around 138 guests in 70 suites and staterooms along France’s Rhône and Saône Rivers.
Meanwhile, Emerald Radiance will sail in Portugal – doubling up Scenic’s presence on the Duoro River.
She will carry 112 guests in 56 cabins and travel on eight-day itineraries from Lisbon to Nice or Paris.
Radiance’s interiors will be the same as the existing five stylish ‘Star Ships’ which sail between Amsterdam and Budapest. She’ll have the pool, Reflections Restaurant, Horizon Lounge & Bar, Terrace, Sun Deck, floor to ceiling windows in the public spaces , innovative drop down glass balcony windows in the Suites.
According to an Evergreen spokesperson, the main difference between Emerald Radiance and other Evergreen ships will be that the pool will be on the roof so it won’t be able to convert into the cinema at night.
