Former Excite Holidays General Manager, Joe Karbo, is taking over Wendy Wu Tours as the new Group Chief Executive.
His appointment comes a little over a week after industry veteran Andrew Mulholland was appointed Managing Director of the tour company’s Australia and New Zealand operations.
In the newly created role, Karbo will operate out of London where he’ll be responsible for leading the global operations and offices in London, Sydney, New York, Shanghai and Auckland. He’ll report to the operator’s Board of Directors.
The company’s Founder and Chairperson, Wendy Wu said she’s “happy” to have Karbo on board and expects he’ll “bring new scope” to the business.

Karbo’s previous roles include General Manager at Excite Holidays and Innstant Group (AU), with earlier positions at Flight Centre, GIO Business and Gow-Gates Insurance Brokers.
He has been credited as one of the driving forces behind Excite Holidays’ rapid growth and success over the past few years, and recently completed his MBA in Australia and Europe.
