Helloworld isn’t just sponsoring Australian basketball for the next four years, it’s managed to score the naming rights to the team heading to Rio.
The four-year agreement will see the Australian Junior Championships kick off in September this year with the new title, the Helloworld Australian Junior Championships.
But more importantly, the Boomers – aka the men’s national team heading to Rio– will be known as the Helloworld Boomers.
That’s a slam dunk for helloworld’s national marketing team, which has managed to get the word ‘helloworld’ worldwide exposure at one of the most watched sporting events.
“Helloworld is committed to supporting Australian sports, not just at the elite level but from the ground-up.”
Andrew Burnes, Helloworld CEO
“The Helloworld Boomers go into Rio as a real medal chance and it’s an exciting time for basketball in Australia.”
Basketball Australia CEO, Anthony Moore said he was thrilled to have secured the multi-year partnership, which will provide “us with world class expertise for all of our travel requirements”.
“With a considerable retail network, we are looking forward to helping families and friends of our athletes participating in the annual Helloworld Australian Junior Championships travel around the country,” he said.
“The Helloworld Boomers will be playing in Australia and throughout Asia next year as part of the new FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
“Aussie fans will be able to access excellent travel packages on offer to follow the team.”
