It’s a sight many dream of seeing in their lifetime, but one that very few ever do. Six Travel Agents are among the lucky ones who got to watch the sky dance with green lights during a recent fam-trip.
50 Degrees North together with Finnair and Consolidated Travel took 6 Aussie consultants on a once-in-a-lifetime journey through Finland, where they were able to see the Northern Lights in person.
These lucky consultants were Leonie Nelson from Travel Affare, Val Galanou from Travel Managers, Rachael Baker from Terrace Travel, Yvette Kerr from Travel Associates Newcastle, Cara Hall National from Travel Bendigo and Mark Starr from Airfare Geeks.
During their epic escape, they saw the early autumn auroras in Levi during an Aurora Photo excursion. They also went on an early morning excursion to watch bears, wolves and Icelandic horse riding through the forests.
There was even a quick stop to say ‘hello’ to Santa in Rovaniemi, Lapland.
Toni Kosmarikas from Finnair described the famil trip as “amazing” and one topped by incredible Business Class air travel on Finnair’s new Airbus A350 XWB.
“Salmon and summer vegetables for dinner, JYMY ice cream along with a lovely glass of Joseph Perrier Cuvee Royale bubbly to settle in and enjoy with my movie before falling asleep on my fully flat bed, snuggled up with my Bose noise cancelling head set, Marimekko doona and pillow… to then wake up with the beautiful Northern Lights LED lighting display on board and breakfast before landing in Helsinki. Simply magical. An excellent way to begin our incredible journey through Finland,” Toni said.
