Five top-selling Travel Experts have recently returned from 1000 Mile Travel Group’s (1000MTG) first exclusive international famil in California.

The famil, which was sponsored by Qantas, saw Emily Davidson and Amy Taylor from VIC, Vicki Thomason and Renee Trent from NSW and Kurt Hufer from QLD join 1000 Mile Travel Group’s Managing Director Ben Ross on the seven-day educational across the Golden State.

After upgrades all round on their journey with Qantas to San Francisco, the group spent the day exploring Fisherman’s Warf and the Golden Gate bridge.

Highlights from their trip included Yosemite Falls, tastings at local wineries in the Napa Valley, touring Alcatraz and inspecting some of the best hotels San Francisco has to offer including the Westin Union Square and Senza Resort.

“The itinerary ticked a lot of boxes for me – Yosemite was spectacular, San Fran was full of energy and I don’t remember too much of the Napa Valley but judging from the photos, it looks amazing.”

Kurt Hufer, 1000 Mile Travel Expert

Vicki Thomason, a Sydney-based Travel Expert who also attended the famil, said: “I had an amazing time. The itinerary was well thought out with a mixture of great activities and plenty of time to relax. I can’t wait for the next one and hope I win a spot again!”

Qantas’ National Account Manager for Agency Partnerships, Rohan Farrance, said as a new agency, the 1000 Mile Travel Group is “really responsive and capable”.

He continued, saying they earned their spots on the trip through amazing sales performances during the campaign period.

“This really underlines that 1000 Mile Travel group can partner with us and deliver what they say they can,” Farrance said. “It was also great for us to be able to show off our outstanding aircraft and onboard product between Australia and the USA.”
