Michele Köbke is planning to marry the love of her life. She has been in a physical relationship for five years with a ‘very attractive, sexy, beautifully built, and elegant’ BOEING 737-800 AIRCRAFT.
Yup. You read that right.
THIS WOMAN GETS HER KICKS FROM – AND IS HOPELESSLY IN LOVE WITH – AN AIRPLANE.
Like, don’t get me wrong, we’re all a bit travel mad; there is always an air of excitement when boarding a flight, but this one really takes the biscuit!
Michele is a 30yo from Berlin, Germany. She has a boyfriend, but her fling with passenger jet, who by the way, she has nicknamed ‘Darling’, often gets in the way of the human couple spending quality time together, because “A relationship with a plane is not easy and at times difficult.”
Silly me for thinking this relationship wouldn’t be complicated…
Her love blossomed
Michele’s weakness for airplanes started when she took her virgin flight in November 2013.
It was love at first flight.
She then realised she particularly lusted over the 737-800, after it took her for a ride in March 2014.
“I got so excited with boarding the plane, I realised I am in love with the 737-800.”

A few years later, Michele finally got to spend some quality time alone with her lover, in an airport hangar.
How romantic.
Her passion for the plane
Unfortunately, Michele can only get close to ‘darling’ when she flies with him or when she can get to him in the hangar, which has only ever happened once in her life.
However, this has not stopped her from finding creative new ways to indulge her affection for it.
“I have a big model of him made of fiberglass as well as real components from him so I can act out my love to some degree.”

… hmm.
There are numerous photos of her circulating the internet, kissing the 737-800 and getting snuggly with components such as doors and panels.
This unique love is known as objectophilia – a form of sexual or romantic attraction focused on particular inanimate objects. Individuals with this attraction may have strong feelings of love and commitment to certain items or structures of their fixation.
You might be surprised to learn that Michele doesn’t see the sexual side of her relationship with the aircraft any different to a physical relationship with a human.
Although, if you’ve made it this far, you might not be surprised by anything, ever again.
Michele explains the thing that really makes her knees weak about ‘darling’ are the 737-800’s winglets.
“When I touch his wings, I get immediately sweaty palms and get excited,”
Michele reveals that her ultimate dream is to marry the plane and live in the hangar with him.
“My cheeks hurt from smiling, I’m the happiest woman in the world – when I’m with him I have everything I need.”

There’s a fine line between very sweet and kind of weird.
I wonder what her human boyfriend things of all this. Maybe he’s in love with a cruise ship or something?
