Virgin Australia has hit back after Qantas announced its unlimited flight date changes yesterday, with an announcement confirming the match expected soon.
Virgin Australia has retaliated to Qantas’s new flexibility offering, which now allows passengers unlimited flight date changes until at least January 2022.
In what the airline says is ‘a continued commitment to customers’, Virgin Australia is expected to announce that it will match Qantas’ flexible booking policy in the coming days, as follows:
- Change and cancel fees waived for travel up to 31 January 2022 when a booking is made by 30 April 2021
Virgin Australia was the first Australian airline to offer free booking flexibility until 30 June 2021 to give travellers peace of mind when making a booking.

The Virgin Australia Let The Good Times Fly sale, with almost 2 million one-way Economy fares from $75*, was due to end at midnight AEST tonight.
But VA wants to share the love and is pleased to extend the sale until midnight AEST Monday 15 February 2021, with more fares from only $75, which include baggage, seat selection, and Velocity Frequent Flyer points.

- Sydney-Ballina Byron/Ballina Byron-Sydney from $75
- Sydney-Coffs Harbour/Coffs Harbour-Sydney from $79
- Brisbane-Whitsunday Coast/Whitsunday Coast-Brisbane from $84

- Melbourne-Adelaide/Adelaide-Melbourne from $89
- Sydney-Brisbane/Brisbane-Sydney from $89
- Brisbane-Mackay/Mackay-Brisbane from $99
- Perth-Kalgoorlie/Kalgoorlie-Perth from $149
