If you’ve been dreaming of saying aloha, experiencing the islands, and doing something good for the people of Hawai’i, then you’ll want to live vicariously through the seven lucky agents who went on the first Hawai’i trade agent famil in over years. Thanks to Hawai’i Tourism Oceania in partnership with Hawaiian Airlines, these seven lucky advisors experienced the Mālama Hawai’i famil – and we’ve got all the goss!
Snagging one of only seven spots on an #arrivalrevival famil is impressive enough, but add in all of Hawai’i’s magic – including their heart-warming Mālama Initiative – and it adds up to the trip of a lifetime. Across one fun-filled week, the group experienced the diversity of the Hawaiian Islands, the warmth of the locals and discovered more about the Mālama initiative.
Mālama Hawai’i

You’ve no doubt heard of Mālama Hawai’i, by now; we’ve been singing its praises since it launched (you know we love responsible tourism)! Mālama means to take care or give back, and through the program, travellers to Hawai’i can participate in voluntourism opportunities that leave the island even better than when they arrived.
A perfect mix

With a mix of travel ingredients as good as the yumminess of a poke bowl, the Mālama famil was a memorable trip for all attendees. Visiting O’ahu, Maui, and Lāna’i, they fully immersed themselves in the true aloha vibes through unique experiences and activities across the FOMO-inducing famil.
How’s this for a checklist of an incredible week away?
The group:
- Attended Waikiki’s Royal Court Investiture and Opening Ceremony, kicking off the month-long Aloha Festival
- Visited the Bernice Bishop Museum, the Smithsonian of the Pacific
- Enjoy a fun-filled day of adventure on UTVs at Kualoa Ranch Private Nature Reserve
- Participated in Planter’s Experience at Gunstock Ranch to mālama the aina (give back to the land)
- Visited the Maui Oceania Center and discovered the local efforts in regenerative and responsible tourism
- Travelled to Lāna’i to share some aloha and much-needed affections (read: kitty cuddles) at the Lāna’i Cat Sanctuary
Sweet Aloha dreams

Sounds epic to us! But wait, there’s more! The fortunate advisors also experienced aloha hospitality at newly refurbished properties: Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach and Sheraton Waikiki on O‘ahu, and at Maui’s Royal Lahaina Resort & Bungalows, and Ka’anapali Beach Hotel.
Reports also came back on some particularly impressive site inspections at Waikiki Collection, the Kahala Hotel & Resort, Courtyard Marriott O‘ahu North Shore, the Ritz-Carlton Residences Waikiki, Grand Hyatt Regency Maui, Sheraton & Westin Maui, Four Seasons Resort Lānaʻi. and Sensei Lānaʻi – A Four Seasons Resort.
