Geared towards families for the summer holiday season, Tourism NT’s new digital video series “Country is Calling” showcases the Top End as an outdoor classroom and all the best family-friendly experiences available on Country with kids as the travel hosts.

The Country is Calling video series aims to encourage visitation and assist with holiday planning in the Northern Territory, highlighting cultural and Indigenous experiences from national parks and waterholes to vibrant arts, culture and festivals in local communities.

Featured locations include Elsey National Park’s Bitter Springs thermal pools and cabbage palms; Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park; the Indigenous communities of Beswick and Barunga; the nature- and culture-packed town of Katherine and Nitmiluk National Park’s Leliyn (Edith Falls).

The series is hosted by the young stars of Barrumbi Kids, which premiered on NITV on 18 November.

The videos highlight various Top End locations featured in the show with Barrumbi Kids’ Nick Bonson and Caitlin Hordern sharing their fave places to be immersed in Country and Indigenous cultures.

Tourism NT Executive Director of Marketing Tony Quarmby said: “The Northern Territory offers a rich and diverse range of experiences that allow travellers of all ages to connect with Country, Aboriginal cultures and communities.”

“For families seeking a holiday that is not only fun and unique but also culturally enriching and educational, the Territory’s Top End and Red Centre are absolute must-visits.”
