Grab a lei and cocktail: Tahitian travel trade events are back! Australian and New Zealand travel professionals returned to Tahiti this week for the comeback of The Islands of Tahiti’s main annual tourism event, Parau Parau Tahiti (PPT).
Held for the first time since the pandemic, the two-day travel trade show took place in the French Polynesian capital of Papeete and brought together international product managers with local partners for a networking feast.
During the show, local partners also had the chance to showcase some of the myriad experiences on offer across the South Pacific islands.
Along with one-on-one meetings, visitors also had the opportunity to experience first-hand some of the culture and nature of the islands during a famil.
Staying at the recently opened Hilton Hotel Tahiti, guests also took a catamaran excursion out of Papeete for site inspections of new and existing properties.
Among the Australian attendees were Tina Heyer (Entire Travel Group), Susanne Nuttall (Flight Centre Travel Group), Kylie Kemp (Qantas Hotels & Holidays), Goran Dragicevic (Paradise Discovered), Guiying Li (Tahiti Voyages), Jacqueline Constable (Omniche Holidays), Ian Lockwood (Allways Dive).
Tahiti Tourisme Australia and New Zealand representative Caroline Brunel joined the Aussies for the event.
Late last year, Tahiti Tourisme brought some of the flavours, sights and sounds to Australia for a series of events designed to showcase the Islands of Tahiti.
In an interview with Karryon, Tahiti Tourisme CEO Jean-Marc Mocellin also told us about the island nation’s five-year plan.
