IHG Hotels & Resorts will partner with Star Millennium to rebrand two existing hotels as premium properties, opening as Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport in September 2024 and Crowne Plaza Macquarie Park in early 2025. Both hotels will undergo a revamp to offer more 5-star options for visitors to Sydney.
Under the independent management model, Trilogy Hotels will oversee the daily operations of both hotels and drive performance, working with IHG Hotels & Resorts under a franchise agreement for branding and distribution capabilities.
Work is already underway on the transition of Holiday Inn Sydney Airport to Crowne Plaza, slated to open in September this year and following its $15 million refurb in 2022.
The new 252-room Crowne Plaza Sydney Airport will undergo a light refresh of its lobby and restaurant.

Meanwhile, comprehensive work on the existing 196-room Courtyard by Marriott, Sydney-North Ryde property will commence on 1 January 2025 for its transition with updates to guestrooms and the lobby.
In this landmark deal, Trilogy Hotels will build and operate a portfolio leadership team for Star Millennium Pty Ltd owners, the Huang family, across their other hotels.
IHG Hotels & Resorts Director of Development Cameron Burke said: “We are honoured to have been chosen by Star Millennium as the partner to brand these two well-known Sydney hotels.”
“It’s exciting to see the brand continue to go from strength to strength, building on its reputation as one of the world’s best-known and loved premium hotel brands among corporate and leisure travellers alike.”

Star Millennium Pty Ltd Director Wade Huang added: “We are proud of our long-standing and successful relationship with IHG. Expanding our collaboration by integrating our Sydney Airport and Macquarie Park hotels into the Crowne Plaza family is an exciting step.”
Trilogy Hotels CEO Scott Boyes said its landmark deals with Star Millennium are “defining moments for the hotel industry”.
