Movers + Shakers: Royal Caribbean grows sales team after record AU/NZ growth

Royal Caribbean has increased its sales team Down Under, in what it says is a response to record business in Australia and New Zealand.

To this end, the cruise line has hired four new staff to boost retail and digital partnerships. Several existing staff have also been promoted to leadership roles.

Roberta Chaplin, who joined earlier this year, manages the Flight Centre Travel Group partnership. With a background at Flight Centre and MyCruises, she brings extensive experience in travel sales.

Appointed as key account manager for digital partnerships, Alex Doyle comes with expertise in multi-channel media and marketing from Tesco’s Dunnhumby and recently led the Oroton account at an Australian digital marketing agency.

Catherine Marshall continues her travel career by managing the Helloworld network for Royal Caribbean, following roles in airlines, hotel wholesaling and agency sales, most recently at Express Travel Group.

Ruby Edwards, who joined RCI last month, is part of the digital trade sales team. She co-founded the global online media company Shit You Should Care About and has worked on campaigns with Live Nation.

Additionally, Royal Caribbean’s Director of Sales Dave Humphreys announced internal promotions: Nicole Stojic to Head of Retail Sales, Lachy Sudlow to Head of Digital Sales and Janelle Daniel to Head of Sales Enablement.

Royal Caribbean Australia and New Zealand is also adding new roles in sales, marketing and trade support.
