The APT Travel Group Family Principal & Director Lou Tandy has been named a national finalist in the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2026 awards in the Consumer category.
Tandy, the third-generation leader of one of Australia’s largest luxury travel companies, is among the national finalists for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2026 program.
Now in its 26th year, the awards recognise entrepreneurs who have reshaped industries and created lasting economic impact across Australia.
The national winner will be announced at a gala event later in 2026 with the Australian recipient progressing to the EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards in Monaco.

The APT Travel Group is the family business behind brands including APT, Travelmarvel, Botanica World Discoveries, Captain’s Choice and Antarctica Flights.
Founded in 1927, the group has grown from a family-run coach company into a global touring and cruising business, and is now heading into its 100th year, capping a strong run that recently saw it land eight category nominations at ATIA’s 2026 National Travel Industry Awards.
Tandy said: “As we approach our centenary, it means a great deal to be recognised for the entrepreneurial spirit that has shaped our business since its inception.”

“Almost 100 years ago, my grandfather started this business with a single bus. My father built on that foundation and created something remarkable. Innovation, calculated risk-taking and backing new ideas have been part of our story from the very beginning.
“While this recognition carries my name, it reflects the efforts of an exceptional team, trusted partners and the leadership of our CEO, David Cox.
“I am fortunate to work alongside people who challenge us to keep improving and share a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences for our guests,” she said.
KARRYON UNPACKS: A national entrepreneur shortlist for the head of an Australian travel company is the kind of recognition that reassures clients booking with brands like APT, Travelmarvel and Captain’s Choice that they are dealing with a long-established family business heading into its 100th year.
