All-time high: ATAC’s record-breaking $705K in override payments back to members

Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) paid $705,000 in override payments directly to the independent advisor member network in 2025 – the highest annual rebate in its history and representing 74 per cent of total override income.

Australian Travel Agents Co-operative (ATAC) paid $705,000 in override payments directly to the independent advisor member network in 2025 – the highest annual rebate in its history and representing 74 per cent of total override income.

It said the record-breaking rebate reflected the strength of the co-operative’s Preferred Partner relationships and the growing success of its performance-based override model.

In 2024, the top individual override payment was $30,000 while one agency received nearly $60,000 this year.

With the 2025 overrides now finalised, members can access their detailed override statements and GST reports. These reports provide valuable insight into their current earnings and highlight opportunities to grow future returns by increasing engagement with Preferred Partners.

The momentum continues with ATAC’s flagship conference, Future Focus 2025, taking place in Adelaide from 4–7 September.

ATAC CEO Michelle Emerton said: “This is exactly what the co-operative model is built for – putting money back into the hands of independent agents.”

“Our tiered override structure, combined with super-low fees, is working. It’s rewarding performance, encouraging deeper support of our Preferred Partners and ultimately reinvesting into small-medium businesses.”

Travel Masters Joint Managing Director Neil Kirby said: “Joining has been one of our best business decisions. The co-operative’s supplier partnerships, shared resources and considerable annual returns have enhanced our operations and profitability.”

“ATAC empowers our independence while offering strong industry support and collaboration, making it an invaluable partner in our ongoing success as a travel business.”

The agent co-operative revealed a refreshed brand identity earlier this year.
