Sail in style: These million-dollar world cruises redefine luxury for high-net-worth travellers

Epic voyages in the lap of luxury are in high demand. Check out what your discerning clients can expect when they book into the best suites on the longest, million-dollar world cruises.

Epic voyages in the lap of luxury are in high demand. Check out what your discerning clients can expect when they book into the best suites on the longest, million-dollar world cruises.

The Regent Suite on Seven Seas Splendor’s 2028 world cruise is already waitlisted – at $1,319,530 per person. That now beats the previous record-breaking fare of AUD$1.25 million for Splendor’s 2027 world cruise – and hello, we’re still in 2025!

As there is only one Regent Suite on RSSC’s Explorer-class ships, it’s not surprising that it books out so quickly – the most and least expensive suites and staterooms for any cruise are always snapped up first.

However, it’s quite an eye-opener to discover how much avid cruisers are prepared to invest in a bucket-list voyage that typically lasts two, three or even more months – and how far in advance you need to book clients into the coveted top suites on these up to one million-dollar world cruises.

Here is our selection of up to one million-dollar world cruises on the horizon for 2027-28.

Sailing the seven seas for eight months, Oceania Vista’s Around the World cruise is the longest of our selection of upcoming luxury world voyages. The 1,200-guest Oceania Vista launched in 2023 and her top suites are three 222sqm Owner’s Suites that span the entire width of the ship on Decks 8, 9 and 10.

They feature a king-size master bedroom with lavish, spa-like ensuite, separate dining and living areas, an elegant sit-up bar, full butler’s pantry and a second bathroom. Furniture and furnishings are all from Ralph Lauren Home and the master bedroom and living area open to expansive decks.

Owner’s Suite guests also enjoy dozens of special services and amenities on top of the Exclusive Prestige Package.

The Owner’s Suite on the 930-guest Viking Sky was booked out almost immediately. Bookings generally open about three years in advance, so watch out for announcements about Viking’s 2028 world cruise this year.

Seven Seas Splendor, 2028

The voyage: 133 nights, departing LA on 5 January 2028, arriving in San Francisco on 17 May 2028.

As mentioned above, Seven Seas Splendor’s opulent Regent Suite is already waitlisted for her 2028 Legends of the Pacific voyage, although bookings only opened in May (pre-reservations started in April). Which means there will be another 10 or 11 months to wait for Regent’s 2029 entry for million-dollar world cruises to be announced, if the usual pattern is repeated.

Splendor’s Regent Suite is almost identical in size and layout to the Regent Suite on Seven Seas Grandeur, which we looked at recently; there are minor differences in decor and artworks but the sumptuous quality and attention to detail are just as impressive.
