Celebrity Cruises has sold all of its remaining 2027 river sailings in under five hours after priority booking access sold in six minutes.
Bookings for the cruise line’s inaugural season of river cruises opened to the public on Thursday 25 September, selling out in under five hours.
Celebrity Cruises President Laura Hodges Bethge says, “The response to the innovative design and unmatched experience Compass and Seeker will deliver has been overwhelmingly positive”.
“Guests are going to love sailing Europe’s Rhine and Danube rivers on our fleet of elevated, cutting-edge ships.”
Bethge says the river cruises will set sail with an “innovative hull, delivering a lightweight, versatile design that improves river navigation, delivering the most seamless holiday experience in the industry”.
She says the ships also offer “the most usable outdoor space of any river ship with the first cantilevered dining pods – which offer guests the chance to dine floating above the river while enjoying regional, destination-driven culinary offerings”.
Celebrity Cruises’ VP & MD, Australia & APAC Tim Jones says it plans to have a fleet of 10 ships sailing on Europe’s waterways.
“Our market research shows that more than half of our guests are either interested in, or have already experienced, a river cruise.
“For travel advisors who have an existing Celebrity Cruises guest base who already love our brand, this presents a new and exciting product for your clients to try.
“For travel advisors with clients interested in river cruising, our river cruises are a natural extension of our premium offering that will bring our hospitality-first approach to the river.”
Those now wanting to get on board will have to wait for 2028 itineraries, which will go on sale in early 2026.
