Abercrombie & Kent grows DMC portfolio to 83 countries with Crillon Tours acquisition in Bolivia

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has added Bolivia to its growing destination management company (DMC) collection and expanded its South American footprint with the purchase of Crillon Tours, which includes DMC operations and unique properties in Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni Salt Flats.

Abercrombie & Kent (A&K) has added Bolivia to its growing destination management company (DMC) collection and expanded its South American footprint with the purchase of Crillon Tours, which includes DMC operations and unique properties in Lake Titicaca and the Uyuni Salt Flats.

The latest acquisition increases A&K’s global portfolio to 83 countries and more than 70 offices with 3,000 staff, making it the largest luxury DMC network worldwide.

It follows the recent establishment of a DMC in Mexico, the acquisition of Borealis DMC in Scandinavia and significant investment in the A&K Sanctuary collection of luxury camps, lodges and riverboats.

The addition of Crillon Tours opens access to some of South America’s most remote destinations, from unique properties on the planet’s highest navigable lake, Lake Titicaca, to Airstream caravans in the Uyuni Salt Flats, the world’s largest salt desert.

A&K plans further investment to bring these newly acquired assets to A&K Sanctuary standards, enhancing the company’s luxury accommodation in South America and its existing property portfolio.

A&K will develop and add its own dedicated DMC team in Bolivia along with new products, such as luxury camping in the Uyuni Salt Flats, which will complement and elevate Crillon Tours’ existing portfolio.

Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group (AKTG) CEO Cristina Levis said: “Bolivia represents one of South America’s most extraordinary frontiers with landscapes and experiences that are truly irreplaceable.”

Following the acquisition, Crillon Tours will continue to operate and grow its current business with the same Bolivian leadership and team.
