CruiseAlong Founder & Operator Lance Mumby celebrates a remarkable milestone in October 2025, charting a distinctive course in the cruise and travel industry across five decades.
Starting his travel journey with Bank of NSW Travel in October 1975, Mumby embarked on his first cruise aboard P&O Cruises’ Arcadia just two weeks into his career.
In 50 years, he has spent 1,460 nights at sea, visited all seven continents and more than 120 countries and personally escorted 30-plus cruise groups.
A respected and well-known figure in the Australian travel community, Mumby is admired for his energy and dedication to customer service.
A CLIA and Magellan Travel member, Byron Bay-based CruiseAlong specialises in small-ship and expedition cruise groups, offering tailor-made adventures that blend luxury, discovery and a personal touch.
Mumby’s approach includes creating custom voyage videos with soundtracks, giving clients cherished mementos of their journeys.

Accolades, including finalist nominations for Cruise Consultant of the Year by CLIA and ICCA and recognition as a Condé Nast International Agent, mark his career.
His extensive training and certifications reflect a lifelong commitment to excellence and learning. Some of his particular areas of expertise include the Sub-Antarctic, Amazon, Arctic, Kimberley, West Papua and Queensland islands.
