Oceania Cruises has marked two major ship milestones, celebrating Oceania Allura’s naming ceremony in Miami on 13 November and sharing a sneak peek at the upcoming, first-in-class Oceania Sonata, due to set sail in August 2027.

Breaking with tradition, chefs Tavel Bristol-Joseph, Katie Button, Calvin Eng, Aisha Ibrahim, George Mendes and Lawrence “LT” Smith represented Food & Wine Best New Chefs franchise as godparents during the christening ceremony for the fleet’s eighth vessel and a sister ship to Vista.

The 1,200-guest Allura will sail more than 92 destinations on seven- to 34-day voyages during her inaugural season and features 12 onboard dining experiences.

“It is only fitting that she be christened in our hometown of Miami – a city that embodies vibrancy and sophistication. We are deeply honoured to celebrate this momentous occasion alongside her distinguished godparents, marking a new chapter in our historic collaboration with Food & Wine,” he said.
