One&Only has opened its first property in the United States – a luxury ski resort in Moonlight Basin, Big Sky.
Bordered by 6,800 hectares of permanently protected land adjacent to Yellowstone National Park, One & Only Moonlight Basin has cabins, suites and four- to six-bedroom private home stays.
In winter, there are more than 24 kilometres of groomed and ungroomed trails for guided snowshoeing, fat tyre biking and Nordic skiing, and a heated gondola transports guests to Big Sky Resort’s Madison Base.
When the snow melts, go on guided hikes, mountain biking, and fishing at the two private alpine lakes.
The two-storey spa has eight treatment rooms, a steam room and sauna, indoor lap pool and state-of-the-art gym.
Come sundown, head to Moonshack, a speakeasy-style cabin in the woods that serves fine whiskys, then dine on American comfort food at the Landing in the Sky Lodge, or on Japanese cuisine at Akira Back – the eponymous restaurant by pro-snowboarder-turned-celebrity chef.
