Four Seasons will return to Berlin for the first time in two decades, after signing a deal to bring Berlin’s historic Hotel de Rome into its fold.
The large-scale renovation will see the transformation of the historic hotel and former Dresdner Bank headquarters into Four Seasons Berlin, which will open in 2027.
The 140-room and suite hotel sits in the city’s historic Mitte district near St. Hedwig’s Cathedral and the Unter den Linden State Opera.
It will house three restaurants and bars, including a rooftop terrace overlooking the city, and expansive spa and fitness facilities.

Four Seasons President and Chief Executive Officer Alejandro Reynal says it is proud to mark its return to Germany.
“Berlin is an important European destination to add to our global portfolio, and we look forward to collaborating once again with Gruppo Statuto, with whom we have an exceptional track record of introducing our legendary service and experiences to some of the region’s most dynamic destinations.”
Gruppo Statuto Owner Giuseppe Statuto says, “Hotel de Rome has a rich history in Berlin and will have an exciting future in its next chapter.
“Building on the success of our projects together in Italy, we will elevate the guest experience while thoughtfully enhancing the hotel’s existing character.”

In September, a three-year transformation was completed at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris.
Each of the 244 rooms and suites in the luxury hotel in the City of Love’s ‘golden triangle’ just off Champs-Élysées were redesigned.
The renovation also included the addition of a family apartment, the Eiffel Parisian Suite, with sweeping views of the Eiffel Tower from a landscaped terrace (one of two).
