Air New Zealand unveils The Lookout Lounge at Auckland International Airport on 12 December 2025, a brand-new space that adds 200 extra seats during peak passenger periods, ahead of the airline’s new Koru Lounges, set to start construction in 2026.
The Lookout Lounge will operate alongside the Koru Lounge during the summer holiday season and during construction of the new lounges at Auckland International Airport, which will take place in two phases.
The current lounge will remain open with reduced capacity as work is completed on the Koru Premier Lounge, opening in 2027 and available for Koru Platinum (currently Airpoints Elite), Koru Black and Business Premier passengers in the new Koru loyalty program launching in April 2026.

The existing Koru Lounge will then be redeveloped with the refreshed space expected to open by late 2027.
Located on Level 2 near the departure gates, The Lookout Lounge will open daily during peak times (5–10am and 3:30–9:15pm) and Air NZ passengers can use either lounge depending on availability.
The Lookout Lounge takes inspiration from New Zealand’s Great Walks with natural materials and views. Guests can expect a full buffet, a chef station serving rotating made-to-order dishes and a fully serviced bar and barista area, serving New Zealand beer and wine and Coffee Supreme.

Air New Zealand General Manager Customer Alisha Armstrong said The Lookout Lounge offers a fresh take on the Koru Lounge experience.
“As we head into our busiest travel season, The Lookout Lounge will give our customers more space and comfort before they head overseas. It’s a friendly and relaxed environment influenced by the very best of Aotearoa,” she said.
