MSC Cruises is upgrading its private island in The Bahamas to include an expanded pier to host two ships at once, adults-only beach and dedicated family lagoon, while working on a second private island adjacent to the first.

The unnamed second island, known as Little Cay, will offer “an experience that connects guests to nature, pristine beaches, and the beauty of the ocean plus luxury facilities and water features”.

Meanwhile at the first island, Ocean Cay, which was once an industrial site, works are underway to “enhance the guest experience and add an extended pier” and will be completed in 2027.

Ocean Cay has eight beaches, seven bars, Seakers Food Court for casual dining and food trucks, along with a range of activities from snorkelling and watersports to climbing the iconic lighthouse and seeing local wildlife.

Guests visiting the island from late 2027 will be able to experience four new restaurants and bars, a dedicated adults-only beach, a family lagoon and more cabanas available to rent.

Seakers Cove will also have an upgrade, including a kid’s playground, a splashpad, and ropes course with water elements. The area will also feature ping-pong and foosball.

Adults-only Paradise Sands will have a new experience to relax and soak up the sun in tranquillity by day, before the space transforms into the perfect place to sip a cocktail at sunset.

Guests can also explore marine conservation through “immersive, hands-on experiences, from coral restoration and scientific discovery to interactive exploration of ocean ecosystems”.
