Marriott International will establish itself in Queenstown for the first time with the opening of its debut St Regis Hotels & Resorts property in New Zealand by late 2027 and the luxury brand’s third in the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific region.
St Regis Queenstown will occupy a prominent position in central Queenstown with views of The Remarkables mountain range and Lake Wakatipu.
The new-build, 5-star property will be a first for the hotel brand in New Zealand and is set to feature 145 guestrooms and suites, along with signature bar and restaurant offerings such as The Drawing Room, The St Regis Bar and an all-day dining venue.
St Regis’ hallmark Butler Service will provide personalised services, including packing and unpacking, garment pressing and in-room beverage and wake-up requirements.
The St Regis Spa is slated to offer a hydrothermal facilities zone and a relaxation and wellness lounge, complemented by the hotel’s indoor heated pool and fitness centre.

Marriott International will partner with local developers PHC Queenstown Limited on the new-build luxury hotel and resort, representing a significant addition to the region’s luxury accommodation market.
Marriott International Vice President – Hotel Development, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Richard Crawford said securing a luxury presence in Queenstown was a strategic priority for the global hospitality group in a rapidly growing segment.
“We’re thrilled to soon establish the iconic St Regis brand in such an exceptional destination. Founded on New York’s 5th Avenue more than 120 years ago, St Regis is a globally revered name in luxury that is sought after by discerning travellers worldwide,” he said.
“Queenstown attracts more than two million visitors annually, making it ideal for a world-class luxury hotel.

“The St Regis Queenstown is set to be undeniably the destination’s finest hotel offering and will further elevate Queenstown’s status as a must-visit destination,” he said.
Partnering with Marriott International on a third property, PHC Managing Director Prakash Pandey added: “We are incredibly excited about this development, which will bring to New Zealand – and specifically Queenstown – a new level of luxury accommodation and services.”
“We believe this is a strategic addition to our portfolio of 30 hotels in operation and under development across New Zealand, as we continue to invest in the luxury and upscale markets.”
