First look: inside Uniworld's new super ships S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene

Uniworld has released the first images inside two of its new super ships launching in 2027, S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene.

Uniworld has released the first images inside two of its new super ships launching in 2027, S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene.

The ships follow the debut of S.S. Emilie in 2026, with S.S. São Rafael also coming on board in 2027 to sail Portugal’s Douro River, completing Uniworld’s transition to an all ‘super ships’ fleet.

Uniworld says sister ships Audrey and Marlene bring “two distinct design visions to Europe’s rivers, drawing from the iconic aesthetics of celebrated actresses Audrey Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich, while continuing Uniworld’s tradition of design-driven ships that reflect the regions they sail”.

The S.S. Audrey draws inspiration from Audrey Hepburn’s “timeless style” and mid-20th-century Europe, featuring a palette of greens, golds and blues with vibrant accents, geometric patterns and artistic tributes to the iconic actress.

The layout includes an intimate aft bar lounge, and the ability to combine adjacent suites to create two-bedroom accommodation for families or groups travelling together.

The S.S. Marlene pays tribute to the “striking presence and timeless beauty of German-born actress and singer Marlene Dietrich”.

Interiors blend warm tan and gold tones with dramatic accents of pink, red and blue.

Accommodating up to 154 guests, the ship will have an intimate restaurant, lounge, private dining room, spa and fitness centre.

Uniworld President and CEO Ellen Bettridge says the one-of-its-kind design has always been central to the Uniworld experience.

“With the S.S. Audrey and S.S. Marlene, we’re celebrating two women whose style defined an era.

“These ships bring their spirit to life through thoughtful details and spaces created to deepen our guests’ connection to the destinations along the journey, and we’re excited to share a sneak peek inside.”

Audrey will begin sailing on April 16, 2027, with its inaugural departure on the ‘Remarkable Rhine & Historic Holland’ itinerary.

Marlene will begin sailing on March 27, 2027, with its inaugural departure on the ‘Tulips & Windmills’ itinerary.
