Princess Cruises is going all-in on Asia, unveiling its largest-ever Japan and Southeast Asia season for 2027–2028, giving Australian agents more sailings, deeper cultural access and stronger selling opportunities.
Princess Cruises has opened sales for its 2027–2028 Japan and Southeast Asia season, marking its most expansive deployment in the region to date, with 96 departures spanning 61 itineraries across 55 destinations in nine countries.
The program centres on Diamond Princess® and Sapphire Princess®, two Japanese-built sister ships designed specifically for the destination, offering travellers a more locally connected onboard experience.
Unmatched access to Japan’s icons, seasons & festivals

The cruise line is doubling down on its Japan expertise, positioning the Princess Cruises Japan Asia season 2027 2028 as a gateway to both iconic highlights and lesser-known cultural moments.
Itineraries include access to 19 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Mount Fuji from Shimizu, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Himeji Castle from Osaka. Guests can also visit the Sado Island Gold Mines from Niigata.
Late-night departures and extended port stays feature prominently, with calls in Aomori, Hakodate, Hiroshima, Kochi, Osaka and Tokushima designed to give travellers more time to explore Japan’s food, festivals and nightlife.
Princess Cruises Vice President Asia Pacific Matthew Rutherford said demand from Australian travellers continues to grow.
“Australia is a key source market for our Japan program, with strong and growing demand from travellers seeking culturally rich, immersive experiences. We’re uniquely positioned in Japan as the only international cruise line operating there year-round, which speaks to both our long-standing commitment to the destination and the strength of our local relationships.”
A seamless journey through Southeast Asia

Beyond Japan, the Princess Cruises Japan Asia season 2027 2028 extends into Southeast Asia, creating longer, more diverse itineraries that connect multiple regions in one journey.
Diamond Princess® will homeport in Singapore, linking Japan and Korea with key Southeast Asian destinations. Highlights include overnight stays in Laem Chabang for Bangkok and late-night calls in Hong Kong and Osaka.
Travellers will also gain access to additional UNESCO-listed sites such as the Singapore Botanic Gardens and Iriomote Island from Ishigaki, broadening the cultural depth of each itinerary.
Immersive experiences onboard and ashore

Princess Cruises positions the program as a seamless way to explore Asia, with accommodation, meals, entertainment and transport bundled into one product.
Shore excursions feature English-speaking guides, supporting ease of travel in complex destinations. Onboard, guests can access familiar Princess experiences including Movies Under the Stars®, Lotus Spa®, The Sanctuary® and a range of dining and family-friendly options.
The cruise line highlights that this combination of inclusions and cultural immersion continues to resonate with value-focused travellers.
