Preferred Hotels launches wellbeing collection amid rising demand for disconnect

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has launched 'Preferred Wellbeing', a new collection of hotels focused on "exceptional, holistic wellness experiences", as demand for disconnection continues to grow.

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has launched ‘Preferred Wellbeing’, a new collection of hotels focused on “exceptional, holistic wellness experiences”, as demand for disconnection continues to grow.

The Preferred Wellbeing collection of hotels follows the luxury hotel group’s recent Luxury Travel Report, which showed wellness was a “defining force in travel decisions”.

Close to 80 per cent of luxury travellers said true luxury today means escaping the pressure to post and impress online, and they are increasingly motivated by experiences that “support genuine disconnection and reset”.

Hotels included in the collection focus on six key trends: longevity-focused wellness; wellness experiences where ancient rituals and modern science converge; thermal experiences; multi-day experiences; nature immersion, and multi-sensory, immersive design where wellness is incorporated into the entire experience.

Some of the more exclusive properties in the collection include Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island in the British Virgin Islands, where wellbeing experiences range from sunrise yoga, hikes along the coast, sound healing and meditation to a cacao ceremony; Passalacqua, an 18th-century Lake Como villa which has a subterranean stone chamber that houses its sauna and steam bath, and Spain’s Grand Hotel Son Net which has a thermal area with heated saltwater pool, sauna, and cold plunge.

Hotel Las Islas in Cartagena, Colombia, is included for its incorporation of neurostimulation therapy into its offering, “demonstrating how longevity is evolving from a clinical concept into a fully integrated luxury travel experience”.

Nature is centre stage at 7132 Hotel in the Swiss Alps, where thermal baths carved from quartzite and fed by mineral-rich springs, and at off-grid Corcovado Wilderness Lodge by SCP in Costa Rica, accessible only by boat, where there’s jungle immersion, outdoor yoga, and plant-based rituals in one of the world’s most biodiverse regions.
