JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa has been named Overall Hotel of the Year – Accommodation Division at the 2026 Queensland Hotels Association (QHA) Awards for Excellence, one of three wins for the Surfers Paradise property.
JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa has taken out Queensland’s top accommodation honour at the 2026 QHA Awards for Excellence, also collecting Best Resort / Lifestyle Accommodation and Best Marketed Hotel – Accommodation Division.
The QHA Awards for Excellence recognise service, innovation and operational excellence across the state’s accommodation and tourism sector.
What sets the Surfers Paradise resort apart

The resort is best known for its saltwater lagoon, where guests can snorkel among tropical fish, swim beneath cascading waterfalls and book private poolside cabanas.
For onsite dining, signature seafood restaurant Citrique has held an Australian Good Food Guide Chef Hat from 2023 to 2026, while Japanese venue Misono offers theatrical teppanyaki alongside a sushi bar and whisky lounge.

Wellness sits at the centre of the offering too, with Spa by JW delivering personalised treatments, complemented by curated family programming and signature JW Garden activities.
JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa General Manager Ravinder Dhesi said: “We are incredibly honoured to be recognised across three categories at this year’s QHA Awards for Excellence, particularly being named Overall Hotel of the Year for the Accommodation Division.”

“These awards are a reflection of the passion and dedication of our entire team, who consistently go above and beyond to create exceptional guest experiences while continuing to evolve and innovate across all areas of the resort.
“We are proud to be recognised amongst Queensland’s leading accommodation providers and look forward to continuing to deliver memorable stays for our guests.”

The property is part of Marriott International’s luxury portfolio with more than 125 JW Marriott hotels across 41 countries and territories, and participates in the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program.
The win comes as the group continues to grow its Queensland footprint with AC Hotels set to launch on the Gold Coast in mid-2026 and Le Méridien debuting on Lindeman Island in the Whitsundays.
KARRYON UNPACKS: A triple win at one of Queensland’s top hospitality awards programs gives the Gold Coast’s luxury accommodation story fresh momentum. For travel advisors, the recognition is an easy credibility marker when matching families and wellness-minded clients to a Surfers Paradise stay.
