Pickleball to pilates: Crystal launches four wellness retreats at sea

Crystal will run four dedicated 'Wellness at Sea' retreats in 2027 aboard Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony.

Crystal will run four dedicated ‘Wellness at Sea’ retreats in 2027 aboard Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony.

The 2027 retreats span two transatlantic crossings and two Americas itineraries between March and November, each curated by Crystal wellness ambassador and culinary nutritionist Dalila Roglieri.

“Wellness is deeply personal, which is why every Wellness at Sea retreat is designed to offer a variety of perspectives and practices that support each guest’s individual journey,” says Roglieri.

“From movement and nutrition to mindfulness and connection, these voyages bring together an exceptional group of specialists dedicated to helping guests invest in their wellbeing at sea and long after the journey ends.”

Every sailing is structured around four pillars: culinary nutrition, physical activity, mental wellbeing and education in longevity science, delivered by a rotating roster of visiting specialists.

Programming ranges from nutrition consultations and cooking workshops to yoga, Pilates, strength training, aqua fitness and pickleball, plus meditation, breathwork, sound healing and lectures on healthy ageing.

The four voyages

The season opens with a Fort Lauderdale to Las Palmas transatlantic crossing aboard Symphony, 20 March to 2 April, focused on building long-term habits through functional fitness, restorative practices and lectures on balance, bone health and ageing.

A Panama to New York sailing on Serenity, 20 August to 3 September, marks the ship’s Wellness at Sea debut and introduces an enhanced pickleball program led by fitness specialist and player Kat Valos, with on-court instruction, off-court conditioning and an onboard tournament.

Kat Valos returns for a New York to San Juan Caribbean retreat on Serenity, 12 to 21 October, pairing active movement with recovery.

The year closes with a Lisbon to Fort Lauderdale transatlantic voyage on Symphony, 8 to 22 November, exploring food, wine and wellbeing with mindful tasting and sensory workshops led by Wendy Narby of Bordeaux Experts.

Both ships completed a A$245 million refurbishment after Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group acquired Crystal in 2022, and carry close to one crew member per guest, part of the continued investment the ultra-luxury line has poured into its fleet.
