Contiki’s Sydney-based staff are  getting their hands dirty on the company’s first beach cleanup tour of Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Kicking off the initiative at Manly Beach earlier this week, the beach cleanup tour is part of a new partnership between Contiki and the Surfrider Foundation Australia to raise awareness of the dangers of single use plastics on marine environments.

The tour will take the Contiki team to ten beaches including Palm Beach, Long Reef and Dee Why. There’ll also be a final ‘clean up tour party’ to celebrate the group’s hard work.

Katrina Barry, The company’s managing director, said the team are pleased to be able to contribute to the beach cleanup and raise awareness for the issue.

“Surfrider is an incredible organization that has been protecting Australia’s coastlines for over 23 years. Ocean conservation is core to Contiki’s sustainability program, Contiki Cares, making this partnership the perfect fit.”
