What’s going on down at Wolgan Valley?

The takeover of Emirates Wolgan Valley by One&Only hotels in November last year has this week resulted in a clear out of many of the Wolgan Sales and Marketing team.

The takeover of Emirates Wolgan Valley by One&Only hotels in November last year has this week resulted in a clear out of many of the Wolgan Sales and Marketing team.

As part of the re-structure of the business a raft of redundancies was announced earlier in the week and it is believed a number of other team members both in head office and on the property itself have also since resigned from their roles.

One&Only which also owns the Hayman Island resort have said that they are “committed to Australia and building the strongest team to support both One&Only Hayman Island and Emirates One&Only Wolgan Valley for the long term”.

It remains to be seen where exactly this leaves the future strategy for the Blue Mountains resort given it’s current World’s First Carbon Zero rating and legacy of sustainable eco tourism and commitment to the local environment and nature projects. The whole ethos of which Emirates founded the $125 million resort in 2009.

Wolgan Valley has won numerous acclaimed industry and consumer awards over the last six years in its operation and achieved a current 97% satisfaction score on Trip Advisor.
