In less than one month on 3rd May 2015, the world’s most unique and remarkable race – the Wings for Life World Run – will kick off around the world.
Spanning six continents and 35 locations, the race will begin at 11am UTC, when over 60,000 participants will set off at exactly the same time, regardless of their location. Australian runners will start their race in Melbourne at 9pm AEST, running through the night and into the early morning.
The Wings for Life World Run was introduced to support the not-for-profit Wings for Life Foundation, which funds spinal cord research projects all over the world.
This year, the race will see several famous faces join the cause, including Australian F1 drivers Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo, pro surfer Mick Fanning, Olympian Steve Hooker, pro skateboarder Corbin Harris and many others doing their part for spinal cord injury. Participants can also join their favourite personality’s team from anywhere in the world, and together run for those who can’t.
