The internet may have changed the way travellers do their research, but travel brochures are still a popular way of obtaining travel information. Here’s what new this week.
1. Creative goes ‘Deep South’ in new brochure
Creative Holidays is tapping into this growing group of Aussies travelling south with a new ‘Deep South’ section in the recently released 2015/16 USA brochure.
This section features a wide range of travel options in Atlanta, Biloxi, Birmingham, Memphis, Nashville, Savannah and Charleston as well as throughout Texas in Austin, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio.
There are also highlights from some popular southern road trips, including the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Plus new properties have been added for these cities to help agents leverage the popularity of self-drive trips.
Meanwhile, the program features new hotels in traditional USA cities, including Delano, The Cromwell, LINQ Hotel and Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas; and Ace Hotel and Peninsula in New York.
More sightseeing options are available for guests, such as the TMZ Hollywood Tour in Los Angeles and the Flavours of New York tour.
There are also five recommended itineraries such as:
- Grand Canyon Sampler – see the spectacular Grand Canyon and bright lights of Las Vegas. Priced from $896 per person including four nights at the Flamingo Las Vegas, a full day Grand Canyon tour, Bryce Canyon Tour from Las Vegas plus Zion Tour and return airport transfers.
- Golden San Francisco – leave your heart in San Francisco priced from $1,009 per person. Price includes four nights at the Hotel Zephyr at Fisherman’s Wharf, a hop on-hop off tour with Bay Cruise, A Total Yosemite Experience with Alcatraz and return airport transfers.
- A Touch of Celebrity – Drive from LA to Palm Springs and back on a six-night, celebrity inspired road trip. Priced from $1,775 per person including two nights at Hotel Bel-Air, two nights at the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs, two nights at Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood and seven day economy rental car.
- Big Apple Adventures – Discover the best of the Big Apple on a four-night stay in Broadway. Priced from $886 per person including four nights at the Hotel Beacon, All Loops Double Decker Tour and three-course lunch at The Russian Tea Room.
- The Best National Park Tour – See Monument Valley and Bryce Canyon priced from $1,456 per person. Price includes three nights at the Quality Inn at Lake Powell, many meals, off road tours to Monument Valley and Antelope Canyon, services of a guide and driver and entry fees to all parks.

2. Insight Vacations’ lower prices in Europe
Insight Vacations has launched its 2015/16 Autumn, Winter and Spring Europe programme, featuring 40 premium class holidays at prices up to 24 percent lower than in summer.
New to the brochure are three new Christmas Markets itineraries in lesser known markets – Poland, Austria and Italy; plus three new Insight Gold Luxury journeys in Egypt.
According to Managing Director, Joost Timmer, Christmas Markets are popular because they weave in the ‘magic of Europe’ with Signature Experiences.
New Christmas Markets itineraries include: seven-Day Christmas Markets of Germany, Austria & Italy travelling from Munich to Venice, visiting five Christmas Markets at a leisurely pace.
Departures are available from 29 November to 15 December, 2015.
There’s also the eight-Day Christmas Markets of Poland, Prague & Germany brings together two of Poland’s favourite destinations Kraków and Wroclaw which are alive with Christmas spirit.

Signature Experiences on other itineraries include a paella cooking demonstration in Valencia with a master chef and a spectacular journey by cable car and cogwheel railway in Switzerland to a mountain summit for stunning views over Lake Lucerne.
The new 2015/16 winter programme also re-introduces Insight Vacations’ Egypt itineraries, with three new Gold Luxury journeys.
The ultimate in luxury, each of these trips incorporate cruising on-board the elegant all-suite River Tosca, dubbed as the finest ship on the Nile.
3. G Adventures expands ‘Comfort’ trips
Adventure travel company, G Adventures has introduced new destination and eight new itineraries in its 2015 Comfort brochure released this week.
New trips take adventurers to Belize, Central and Eastern Europe, East Africa, Ecuador, Patagonia, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Among the highlights include being immersed in Buddhist culture at a Monastery guesthouse in Nepal, touring a spice garden in Sri Lanka and visiting Marie Sharp’s hot sauce factory in Belize are just three experiences travellers who enjoy adventure travel with a few added home comforts can now have.
Belinda Ward, Managing Director for G Adventures Australia and New Zealand, said the new tours have been introduced to cater for increased demand in G Adventures’ Comfort trips, which has risen 40 percent year-on-year to January.
All G Adventures’ Comfort trips feature handpicked accommodation that is unique to the destination, and include extras such as airport transfers, private transport and more included meals.
4. North Queensland with Infinity
Infinity returns to the Tropical North Queensland, with new accommodation choices and extra attractions.
There are nine new hotels, five of which are in the Tropical North & Atherton Tablelands – so there’s a lot more places to really escape the daily grind.
There are also 11 new tours and experiences.
Your guests can become one with nature at the Rainforestation Nature Park, as well as at the Mossman Gorge Visitor Centre, or if the thrill of the track is more their cup of tea, there are also tickets and packages for the Cairns Amateurs Racing Carnival!
