7 things Travel Counsellors can expect to see & do at the 2018 Conference

If you haven't already, start marking the days off a calendar because there's only seven to go until Travel Agents come together in Cairns for the Travel Counsellors Annual Conference.

If you haven’t already, start marking the days off a calendar because there’s only seven to go until Travel Agents come together in Cairns for the Travel Counsellors Annual Conference.

That’s right, only one week for the ‘Future Without Limits’ themed conference begins at the Pullman International.

Once you’ve finished freaking out over your pre-conference workload, get excited because we got our hands on some details from this year’s gathering and let’s just say, it’s certainly going to be an exciting three days.

Here are some of the things consultants can expect to see and do at this year’s Travel Counsellors Annual Conference:

1. Meet the new boss

AOu69Q

Kaylene Shuttlewood was recently appointed to the role of Regional Manager Director and she’s keen to get to know the people she’s planning to lead to success.

So be sure to introduce yourself when you see her around!

2. Find out what’s ahead for your home-based business

In a recent release to media, Shuttlewood said she was not only keen to meet Travel Counsellors but share with her the many “exciting plans” she has for the future.

We’re going to go ahead and assume part of these plans involve a ‘future without limits’ ????.

3. Mingle with mates

It’s not everyday home-based Agents are surrounded by their fellow business owners, so you know there’ll be plenty of chatter (especially during welcoming drinks), laughs and perhaps even one take-home drunken story.

4. $100,000 worth of travel prizes to win

$100,000 worth! WHAT?! That’s the equivalent of 50 flights to Los Angeles (at $2,000 each) or around 30 nights at Canada’s most expensive hotels (err, that’s random).

5. Meet one of the most successful Australian surfers

Layne Beachley 2018

Yeah buddy! Layne Beachley is going to be at this year’s conference! The incredible athlete, world champion and all-around awesome human being will give a keynote speech on her journey to setting surfing history at the age of 22, becoming a seven-time world champion winner and more.

6. Pool party!

giphy-2-1

Okay so it might not technically be a pool party, but it is a party by the pool. The conference itinerary doesn’t say where the ‘Welcome Dinner’ will be held, but it does note that everyone will need to clear out from the pool deck at 11.00pm – so there you have it, first-night pool party!

7. Fantastic surprises

When-He-Grins-Like-Normal-Dude

We heard straight from the new boss (via the marketing and PR team) that attendees will be treated to “a couple of fantastic surprises”. Although they didn’t offer any indication as to what this might be, KARRYON is going to go ahead and guess that it’s a meet and greet with the face of Tourism Australia, Chris Hemsworth (sorry to get your hopes up if we’re wrong).
