LATAM celebrates South America reopening with travel partners at Ovolo

Last week LATAM Airlines celebrated re-opening South America to travellers in Australia and New Zealand with travel industry partners at the Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo.

Last week LATAM Airlines celebrated re-opening South America to travellers in Australia and New Zealand with travel industry partners at the Ovolo Hotel in Woolloomooloo.

LATAM Airlines last week invited travel agents and tour operators to join them in celebrating reconnecting the many family and friends who have been waiting for the borders to open and flights to resume between these destinations.

At the event, Chris Ellis, Country Manager – Oceania, LATAM Airlines, shared updates about LATAM’s three weekly flights between Sydney and Santiago via Auckland, which commences 29 March 2022.

He also talked about LATAM’s Sustainability Strategy and targets to reduce single-use plastics by 2023, zero waste to landfill by 2027, and be carbon neutral by 2050. 

Benjamin Garcia, Director of Sales and Marketing for Nomade, told the audience about new ways to explore Antarctica with Antarctica 21.

Chris Ellis, LATAM Airlines Country Manager – Oceania, said he is are absolutely thrilled to be resuming operation between Sydney, Auckland and Santiago from 29 March.

“With our three weekly services on our Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, we will be reconnecting families and friends who have spent far too long apart plus we’re excited to be giving the many travellers who have been dreaming about their South American holiday the opportunity to start exploring all the beauty, culture, food and wine, and more that the region has to offer.”  

“We want to encourage our industry partners to join us with promoting South America and all that it has to offer to travellers in Australia and New Zealand, and remind them that South America is closer than you think.”

LATAM flights will operate a Boeing 787-9 aircraft three times weekly from 29 March, with the airline looking to increase the schedule to five flights weekly from 1 July 2022.
